In 2012, Wylie Creative was contracted by Samaritan's Purse to build a new website to make their video work available across the web. The project became known as SPTV. Working with the Broadcast staff at SP, along with the video distribution platform company Ooyala, we designed and developed a WordPress site, with deep connections to the Ooyala system, to categorize and display hundreds of videos.
In 2015, we revisited the SPTV design of the site and produced a new set of templates to modernize and update the look, while giving the user a better organized experience and tie the site into the main Samaritan's Purse website more directly.
Like so much of the web, more and more traffic to SPTV is coming from mobile devices. We started with a mobile-first methodology to create the best possible experience for users to view the SP content catalog.
Wylie Creative also helped develop the concept of a Storyline in SPTV to connect multiple video stories connected by a major theme. This framework has been very successful in demonstrating the ongoing commitment Samaritan's Purse shows to the lives it touches, in many cases over the course of several years.
